Nicholas forced his shoulders to relax as he drove. He couldn't get the case out of his mind. Who would want to steal butter from Mr. Grey's farm?
"Black sheep," Danny said.
"Good thinking... an inside job! One of the kids; young Blanche or-"
"No, I mean there's a black sheep." Danny waved at the field outside. "Don't see 'em that often."
Nicholas sighed. "I'm doing it again, aren't I? Thinking too much?"
Danny smiled. "Just a little. You gotta learn to relax, love."
Nicholas leaned over to kiss him.
"White raven."
"What-"
"No, there's literally-" it hit the window.
