Liars

A heavy-looking piece of equipment flew through a glass door, shattering it to tiny shards.
"Liars! Fucking liars!"
A kick to a desk flipped it, sending small instruments and tablets flying all over.
"You said you'd still be there when I get back!"
A fist hit a bulkhead several times, leaving red smears on the metallic surface.
"You said you'd still be there. You promised."
The voice now sounded quiet, fragile.
"I should have known you would lie to me, just like you always have."
Red-rimmed eyes stared at the screen, reading the words CRYOGENIC UNIT FAILURE over and over.
